Tip 6 Opt for optimal OEE
Opt for optimal OEE
Although it might sound strange at first, the highest OEE isn't always the best for you. After all, production is about finding the right balance across the entire operation. OEE measures the Overall Efficiency of machinery, but says nothing about the required storage space or the cost of resources.
OEE that is too high:
- can lead to producing too quickly, resulting in more errors and more waste
- can result in losing money, as sales can't keep up with production and products need to
be stored.
- creates a need for more resources (personnel, energy, materials, machinery).
These additional costs must always remain proportional to the increased turnover.
