Introduction
Some call it Overall Equipment Effectiveness, others prefer Overall Equipment Efficiency. But the abbreviation is the same and so is the meaning. OEE, or in other words the percentage indicating how your machinery is actually performing compared to its full potential.
Calculating OEE isn't rocket sciences, but it does require operational expertise. The calculation method to work out the OEE percentage is best explained using a practical example.
It is also important for you to fully understand the methods you can apply to optimise this percentage. An OEE score of 78% is considered very good in practice, but an OEE that is too high can also be negative.
The purpose of this whitepaper is to give you advice on how to optimise your OEE and explain the insights gained from a digital approach.
